It is still flying everywhere it goes, to move forward at any speed it has to be lifted out of the water, just as if you and a friend tried to lift it off a trailer. Not efficient like wheels. However, hydrofoils generate lift efficiently. compared to some other options.

It's a hydrofoil. Hardly dependant on a short range electric battery that can take hours to charge.

The problem with trailerable boats in electic is the weight is so high. If you are trailering long distances, and around here, even the cottages on lakes are about 100 miles one way, you are hauling a huge amount of weight with a large displacement engine, in order to avoid burning gas in a much lighter boat. If you really wanted to save energy you would make the, displacement boats, but since those are slower than canoes in this length people wouldn't buy them.

🤔 now just imagine how fun it would be with today’s powered fossil fuel engines doing the same thing modifying a outboard engine shaft gearbox to a jet pump doing the same type of deal that way you could go longer distance quicker fill up’s and be on your way having fun again rather than waiting hours to recharge the battery operated one and on the other hand 🤔 I always thought you don’t mix electricity with water 🤷
