My favorite horror book I read in 2022 is easily The Weight of Blood by Tiffany D. Jackson, my favorite thriller book I've read in 2022 is Saving Noah by Lucinda Barry. My second favorite thriller or horror, not certain which genre this book belongs to is, Hide by Kiersten White, my second favorite thriller is Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney.

I really enjoyed Lavender House and The Change got me out of a reading slump. My favorite horror book was The Honeys. It's original and fantastic! 🐝🍯

I loved Dark and Shallow Lies. It’s YA, but the type where it feels like adults were aged down so the author didn’t have to write jobs or spice. It was like revisiting season 1 of True Detective, so I’d say it was pretty great.

I also loved A Dowry of Blood! I had a lot of favourite books within these genres so I can't pick just one 😅 but alongside ADOB, I also really enjoyed Sundial by Catriona Ward, Three Hours by Rosamund Lupton, and Run Time by Catherine Ryan Howard

I enjoyed Richard Osman's Thursday Murder Club as well as the other 2 books from that series. I also loved the Moonflower Murders by Anthony Horowitz. The notes he hits in that series ring all my "Agatha Christie 🛎 ". On the more cozy side of mystery Rita Mae Brown's twenty something installment (I've lost count) in her Mrs. Murphy series was great fun. As was Emily Blackwell's Mrs. Jeffries next in series. She has the best "Scooby gang". 🤣😂 Louise Penny gave me another good Armand Gamache (World of Curiosities), and I also have a delightful new TV series (Three Pines) to thank her for. 😉 Alfred Molina as Gamache is inspired. Racing the Light by Robert Crais was everything I needed from Elvis Cole and Joe Pike and worth the wait. Eventhough now, I need more. I've read all his things...🤷‍♀️ That's the one bad thing about being a series reader. You devour the next installment the day it comes out and then you're all...write faster...faster...I need the next book 📙 in the series.😬😭😡🤣

I read A Head Full of Ghosts back in 2018 and to me, it was a pretty disappointing read. I had issues with the pacing and to me, it felt like it was trying to do too much and it just feel flat. I will be re-reading this one soon though, cause I just joined a horror bookclub at my library and they're discussing this one in Feb., so I'll let you know if my thoughts/opinions change after a re-read. 🤷🏽‍♀

I've been hearing a lot of great things about Hell Followed With Us and I have it on my tbr list, but the more I hear about it, the more I'm like, "I need to stop whatever I'm doing and just read this one now."'

Two of my favorites of 2022 that fall in horror genre are The Weight of Blood by Tiffany D. Jackson and The Southern Bookclub's Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix.

Omg Lily Reads hates Just Like Home and thinking back, she also hates The Other Black Girl, a book you also loved 😂🤣

Funny enough, _The Change_ made it on my worst books of 2022. I hated the author's version of feminism where women should be better than men and every man who's not explicitly stated to be gay is a raging 1950s stereotype of misogyny. It was infuriatingly regressive in 2022, especially since it centered so much on individual bad actors instead of institutions. I honestly couldn't get into anything else about the story.
(Also felt like the writing and themes were very YA and I felt like I'd been bamboozled)

Every time I look at the cover of Teen Killers it looks like she has tiny legs and giant hips.
