The only people who search for “meaning” in their life are people so unoccupied and so disenfranchised from life that they wouldn’t recognize it even if they saw it.

Christians aren’t looking for “meaning” in their life, they’re look for salvation. We’ve become even worse than pagans who at least had some kind of purpose. But the solution wasn’t to modernize the church so that it could fulfill the poorly formulated criticism of Sartre or Nietzsche….rather it was to continue on the work of salvation as always.
