Wow. Just wow. I clicked on this expecting something great and professional since they were showcasing our traditional dances from Mexico on TED. So bad. All of it. From the maneuvering of the skirts, to the footwork...regardless how many years you’ve been dancing you know that if you’re performing you fake that smile if you have to. It was just poorly executed and embarrassing that non-dancers had to see this. Representing what us real dancers do for a living...I’d like to know who these entertainers were, if they’re actually in a ballet folklorico group? Next time, if your “dancers” aren’t ready please don’t throw them to the lions. I was dying when that second performer came out and danced Veracruz. Omg, the dead eyes and no smile. Wow. It was actually scary.

This is a nice beginner version. My suggestion as a teacher of this, the young man needs a little more oomph in his personality in this dance. More flirting and closer in some spots would be nice. She needs to hold the hat by the middle part and hold it slightly behind her head at the end and at the end she needs to lean back more that will add more flare to the dance. Otherwise not bad for beginner.

Loved it, but needs more spirit. I was performing last night with my company and for Veracruz there was non stop gritos and it was such a fun dance. But it's not my part to criticize

Thank you. Your ballet folkorico dances reminded me of the wonderful memories of watching my sister dance at tareadas, carnivals and at special events in East Los Angeles. She was instructed first by Estalita at La Talpa Church and then Antoinette, who had been Estatlita's student.

I love the effort to show or culture. But honestly I didn't see much effort put in to it! Where's the spirit! The loudness from your shoes! Se zapatea con fuerza! & the gritos? The smiles? & Veracruz the skirt needs to be cut shorter! It's not Jalisco I've been dancing for years since I was 5 & I feel offended just because their not representing our Mexico very well & the LACK of spirit.. in someway I feel like they make us Folklorico dancers look bad.
