We are located in the Inland Empire in beautiful Southern California in the USA. Our group has been invited to travel to Asia, Middle East, Europe and Central America.

We perform mexican traditional dances from several regions of Mexico.

Theater Presenters can agree to the vast selection of repertoires we perform. To make each show special, we can ensemble dances from the north, south, east, west and central Mexico. But that is not all, we also dance a chronological variety of dances from 1600's AZTEC post conquest tribal mexican dances and through the colonial era 1650-1800's and into the independence and later the revolution in the 1900's

LEYENDA Dance Company is a ballet folklorico group that specializes in dances from many different regions of Mexico. Our dances are based in ethnological and anthropological studies conducted through multiple travels through Mexico and interaction with the ethnic groups and master teachers from those areas.

LEYENDA Dance Company however, caters to massive media and theater, therefore it is infused with refinement or stylization to fit into the most demanding scenic shows, world festivals, hollywood movies or TV Shows. Still, LEYENDA Dance Company manages to capture the original essence of strength, vitality, and intense passion of the mexican dances. LEYENDA dancers push their body to their limit to impress audiences who have nicknamed this group “Anthropology in Motion”. Their intense performance, and the innovative format of their interactive shows make for an unforgettable impression of mexican dance, here....in the USA, and in China two times as well as in France, Italy, Dubai, and Mexico.

LEYENDA has been featured in a documentary of their first dance tour to China 2009 and has appeared on TV more than 28 times in the past 3 years and featured in Newspapers from USA, China and Dubai as well as TV stations of USA, Asia, India and Dubai. LEYENDA has been awarded multiple times receiving “Artist of the month” “Vision Award” “Image Award” and a Government of LA Commendation amongst others.

Through all this, LEYENDA is strongly poised as a leading Mexican Dance Company with constant innovation of the shows, creation of new ones, hard serious and professional training and a commitment for offering our audiences the best.

DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY: GABRIELA PINEAULT
Gabriela Carbone, born and raised in Mexico, is the founder-director of “Folklore Mexicano” Academy and "LEYENDA" Dance Company.

She started her dance career in her native country drawing inspiration from the many travels she experienced, which allowed her to meet with many ethnic groups and discover the great diversity Mexico has to offer. Her background includes Drama, Choreography, Scenic Direction, Theater production, Classical Ballet, Ethnography and Mexican Anthropology from Bellas Artes de México/UACH.
