The is a gamechanger for any woodshop, especially if you are a beginner. Don’t go another day without making a zero clearance insert plate for your table saw with these limited tools. You can definitely use any hardwood but I used a piece of ½ inch plywood.

Tools I Used:

Accessories Used:

Double-Sided Tape: I think you can figure out where to get this.

I need to make one of these and just haven’t got around to it. Keep those shop projects coming man! Love watching videos like this and I’m sure it’s helped a few people out as well 👊🏼

I know this is an old video but please allow me to offer a safety suggestion.
When cutting at your table saw, do not stand directly in line with the cut.
If pushing with your right hand, stand to the left, if pushing with your left,
stand to the right. Never put complete faith in the configuration of the saw.
( riving knife, etc. ) Anything that can go wrong Will go wrong. 😁✌🖖
P.S.: This also keeps your limbs from crossing the blade path.

Brilliant. Exactly what I was looking for. What material did you actually use to make it. I didn't see that mentioned. I was thinking of using 1/2" finished plywood because I can buy a 2'x4' sheet and make a ton of these for different uses.

Just had a kickback while cutting too thin of stock like an idiot. All in all got some skin torn off and a bruised up finger, but thank God it was nothing serious. Guess who's going to be making a zero clearance insert plate for their saw asap? 😂

Pity this won't work for the R4516 model. The throat plate on this one is only 1/8 thick metal and warps in no time so it will not fit properly. Any ideas on how to do make one for this?

I don’t understand the reasoning for the extra cut at the end and the gluing of the scrap piece of ply. The final product doesn’t look like you did that step.
