Twin Avatars Are Real

What would happen if an Avatar was born as a twin? Well, we just received a canon explanation for this for the first time ever. It was revealed in the reckoning of Roku that Avatar Roku had a twin brother but was there anything special about this?

They’re twins with different souls. Twins aren’t the same person. They are two different people. And not all twins are identical twins but I am assuming people are thinking of identical twins and not fraternal. They share dna, they don’t share the same soul. And what if they were quintuplets? The whole theory of splitting the 4 foundational elements wouldn’t exactly work if there was more than 4. Raava spirit attached to the spirit of the next avatar. She doesn’t split herself up become there’s another spirit in a completely different body being born with the spirit she is bonded to.

I mean I never knew this was a question bc the answer is so obvious. The avatar rebirths as soon as it dies. Roku died and at that very moment, Aang was born. Twins aren't born at the exact time, they are usually born a few minutes before each other. Twin avatars wouldn't be possible bc they can't be born at the same time as the last avatar dies.

This answer makes the most sense honestly. Two people wielding all 4 elements would be too overpowered and two people wielding two elements each would be kinda underwhelming.

that’s kinda what i assumed would happen. there can’t be 2 avatars at one time seeing as there’s only one Raava. cool concept to think about, but it’ll always be one avatar at any given time, not counting Unalaq since that’s a whole other thing

Well think about it, in the lok it’s explained that all of the avatars are connected through raava (I forgot its name the white stingray looking thing) which connects them to their past lives and raava goes into a child before they were born. So being the avatar has nothing to do with genetics it’s about having the spirit of raava inside you

Not completely related to the video but It’s kind of scary to think but Roku and Sozin shared a birthday meaning Avatar Kyoshi must’ve died very close to their births. How terrible could the world have been if Sozin had been born the Avatar instead of Roku. But it is pretty cool how this means technically 3 people were born that day in Sozin, Roku and Roku’s twin Yasu.
