iPhone SE 2022 vs iPhone SE 2020 Camera Comparison | Is there really a difference?

Howzit everyone, welcome my camera comparison between the global version of the iPhone SE 3rd Generation 2022 and iPhone SE 2nd Generation 2020. They are both running iOS 15.4.1. There is no night mode, so I used a third party app, NeuralCam, which can provide that option if you need it. Also note, portrait mode only works on people and does NOT work on inanimate objects like pets.

SE 2 - More balanced colour/contrast. SE 3 - Same photos/more saturation. Not worth upgrade if for the camera.

Can't say I saw much of a difference, if anything, I thought the SE 2 handled general lighting better. Tougher lighting I'd give to the SE 3. Audio also to the SE 3.

I have the SE 2 that I use as a backup phone to my iPhone 13. The phone runs great and I have shot photos with it's single lens and the iPhone 13 dual lens, and I really can tell no difference. Because it doesn't have a night mode, I downloaded an app that does a pretty good job. Not as good as the 13, but very acceptable. performance of the A13 chip is nearly as good as the A15. You really can't tell a difference unless using them side by side. The biggest advantage of the 13 is the battery. It will last over twice as long as the SE 2. For what I paid for the SE 2, it's well worth it.

Wow the SE 2 daytime pictures are more natural while the SE 3 is more red and too sharpen
I only see it power in low light but still not like having a night mode on both of them

Thanks for the video. I chose SE 2 (128GB) instead of SE 3, in order to replace my Samsung S20. I'm using it as a second phone, and two main reasons I chose SE2 are:
- the price for a brand new SE 2 it is really nice (the 128GB option is under 400Euros and is cheaper by 151 Euros than a SE3 128GB),
- S20 although is a nice phone with it's advantages, it gives me headackes sometimes. The battery drains really fast (and I am not a heavy user), when I'm using the camera it get's pretty hot (Exynos here), and sometimes it has software problems, and the AI from the camera gives you way more saturated colors than it should.
And third, as a bonus: I really like iOS's simple interface more.

LATER Edit: I think SE 2 handles really well the highlights in the flower photos. I saw SE 3 has the tendency to overexpose a little bit, wich can be handled ofcourse by exposure compensation, but only as an observation... :)

Se 2 has dimmer light and less saturation where the se 3 has more lighting an more saturation summed up the camera

It was tough pick for me between 13 Mini and SE 2022. Overall I love the SE but the camera not equipped with wide angle lens - that's one reason, with heavy heart, I had to pick 13 Mini instead.

I hate my iphone 12 mini camera so I’m downgrading to Iphone SE 2020. Much more natural. Loved iPhone 7 camera and they are very similair.

You definitely see a difference in video the se 3 does look more improved
