Ukrainian intelligence destroys Russian depot containing over 5,000 tons of ammunition

Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Intelligence Service has claimed responsibility for the drone attack on the ammunition depot in Ostrogozhsk city in Russia’s Voronezh region on Saturday. The agency confirmed that soldiers of the Main Intelligence Directorate attacked Russian field ammunition depot belonging to the “West” group of the Russian Armed Forces. “More than 5,000 tons of ammunition, including artillery and tank shells, small arms cartridges and surface-to-air missiles were on the territory of the military facility. Detonation continues,” the Main Directorate stated in its official Telegram channel. The explosion occurred in Ostrogozhsk city after the attack. It should be noted that as many as 200 people were evacuated from three nearby villages following the attack. Two people are said to have been injured. Regional governor Alexander Gusev said the drones that attacked the area were neutralized by air defense systems, and the fire began due to falling debris. However, the governor did not specify the exact location of the fire or what was detonating.
