Is Racism Innate to Human Existence?

Most “racism” today is not based on tribalistic tendencies (need to join a “tribe”, to protect yourself from other “tribes” which are common tendencies for the less educated). Racism today is based on “observed common behavior”. If the observed common behavior of a group is negative, people outside that group (and in that group) will form future expectations based on that observed past behavior. Translation: if black people in Chicago shot each other last weekend, expect them to do the same thing next weekend. That is not racism, it is the observation of reality.

Tribalistic tendencies such as proffering your own in group aka racism are absolutely natural to humans, it’s how we evolved.

Kids are observant and often ask blunt - even cruel - questions. They point out differences and similarities, and it's not racism: it's usually curiosity. Sometimes they notice when someone is mentally slower, and they notice when someone is weaker - or smarter or stronger.

There's nothing wrong with tribalism. It kept us Alive and thriving for centuries. Created Beautiful Cultures & Religions.

The problem is, everyone wants to pin the blame on someone else and not look inward

True story :
My mother is a teacher in the southest island of Greece, Crete. In the town where we live we basically have almost zero black people, but it happened a family from Ethiopia came and when their 11 years old daughter Ayana came to my mother's class the teachers thought that it was the time that they should have the talk in the class about different races because 11 was old enough to understand . Let's clarify that Ayana went to that school since she was 5 and there was never an instance where the kids would see her any differently. So when the time for "the talk" came my mom sat all the kids down and told them, as the principal instructed, about the planets continents and the different races that exist but at the end of the day we are all part of the same human race and there are no other differences between us . When the time of Africa came up and describe them as dark skin, black hair and black eyes, the kids continue to listen, then my mother asked them do you know any kid that looks like that ? And the kids looked amongst themselves and couldn't find any and said no. Then my mom asked what about Ayana ? The kids looked at her and said she is μελαχρινή (translated having black hair ). And my mom said nothing else? The kids looked confused. My mom then continued, Ayana is a girl from the continent of Africa 🤷. At that point onwards the kids started seeing her differently and her nickname became the African. I think the moral of the story is, that the teachers later understood, they just gave the lens their pupils would now would see through the world differently.
Sometimes good intentions don't equal good results.

As a kid you don’t know violent crime statistics and race baiting.

Yes. This. Im 55, born just outside Detroit MI. Martin Luther King was always an american hero in school and conversation. Ive lived all over the world, love people of all ilks. I never even thought about race when I saw a face until the evil that came upon us all in 2020. Thanks radicals, making racism a thing again by all your hate for others..

In nature the rule is "my DNA above all", my family, my race, my country etc. It is one of the mechanisms of self preservation

Lo cierto es que el racismo y la discriminación es algo impuesto por la naturaleza, y no solo de blancos hacia negro, también se da de negros hacia blancos y negro hacia negros. Nation y culturas!

The people in charge definitely want us to think so because it keeps up too distracted to tear them from their seats of power.

We’re going to have a pre disposition to things that are more normal though.

I want to preface an explanation by saying i believe all humans share the same ability and responsibility for each other.

That said i simply didn’t grow up around many other races, and as a YOUNG child,
i had to get used to them before i stopped constantly thinking about their differences.

Kids are smart, they’re going to know it’s not a simple concept based on how we teach them

I'm mixed race (quarter black caribbean & the rest white irish). I racially-pass as white, with white people-100%. I don't pass as white with people of colour though.
When we were little, my siblings & grew up with white & brown people in our lives. Colour was never an issue - my aunt/ uncle etc were just that-the colour of their skin, just didn't factor. The only way it factored for us as little ones, was that if any overseas relatives came to visit, we knew if they had darker skin they were likely to from dad's side/ if white then, mum's. That's about it, really. The 1st time anyone mentioned about race, I was about 10. So I asked my parents. My mum told me I was both white & black - wasn't I lucky to have both? And that's how I grew up-feeling v lucky. And it's how I still feel today.

Kids are born with instinct to stick their fingers into the eyes of the other kid who took their toy. They don't care what colour that kid is. Cute little innocent angels.

I remember the exact age range where I saw kids who played together one school year slowly transition out of free play based perhaps on home or some other influence. Hopefully we continue to move past it as the world becomes more and more integrated.

I raised mine that way, they grew up not concerned or aware of any issues regarding race.

That's an issue within itself, the fight against racism only reinforces the prejudices that they are fighting. Why would they need to make such massive statements if we shouldn't view races differently? The entire system needs to be dropped on both sides before real progress can be made. Let us forget racism ever existed and move forward, we are all one race, human
