i have been a saved christian since age 32 now 76. I’ve met many a christian “pastors” included that because i have not been adult baptized I’m not saved because I have not followed the scriptures and it says repent and be baptized. I’ve always told them pastor included that i’m saved by Jesus alone and not of something I do. I’ve always mentioned the criminal on the cross who was told by Jesus that he would be in paradise with him that very day due to the faith he displayed when addressed Jesus as Lord and believing that Jesus would be in heaven that very day. I’ve used this scripture always but not with much success because they say i’m wrong. my conscience has never condemned me and I trust in Jesus Christ as my savior. It is solely by Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection that I am saved.

Okay that’s weird was just crying about wether I’m save or not. Been putting stuff out of my life and my life has gone from strength to strength since finding Christ but sometimes I truly doubt if I am saved at all. Today was one of those days which took me by surprise.

When I was babtised (in a pool) the preacher only said "in Jesus' name" and didn't say the trinity names, so all these years, I've had doubts. I've wondered if I struggle with certain sins, because I'm not really saved, because he didn't say the right words. Even though I dismiss this, a little doubt about my security usually remains. Romans 6 is referring to our union with Christ by being immersed into His body which is done by the Spirit that we receive through faith in Jesus Christ.

‭1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Thank you for this video. There are churches out there claiming water baptism is the only way to salvation which is a huge mistake on their part.

Thank you for pointing out John 3:5. I’ve always thought of that as baptism and never looked into it for myself. Crazy enough- I have a study Bible that mentions exactly what you are at the bottom and a few other points… if only I had read what was in front of me😂 actually studying the Word is good! Surface level reading is not so much… context is key!

A lot of people seem to forget that the Thief on The Cross didn't need to be baptized to go to heaven.

Getting baptized is great, but it is not a requirement for salvation

Thanks for sharing. As you say baptism is good but not necessary for salvation. I do believe that baptism of the Holy Spirit is what really important. And no I don’t mean speaking in tongues. I mean having the Spirit fill you with His power to be, to live, to love, like Christ and to obey Him.

What concerns me about all this is that there is no pointing to the fact that you SHOULD get baptized because Jesus said to. Its really that simple. So don't listen to this and think "so I don't need to get baptized"... yes you do. At minimum, water baptism is an outward expression of your faith. What benefit is there in NOT getting baptized? none. Jesus said get wet, so get wet. The early church showed how to do it, its not a complicated thing. I mean Jesus did it.. follow His example.
