Cait has such a linear story arc that it's baffling how easily people misjudge her. Living with the presence of a strong and opinionated mother that loves you and makes arguably good and bad decisions for that reason is complex. Dealing with the loss of that very same parent is even more complex. Feeling like you were partly the reason for their death is even worse. Hopefully not many can relate to the last part, but Cassandra dying because Cait chose Vi over her city/Cassandra is so gut-wrenching. Cait simply said this time I will be the leader my mom would be proud of, AND CLEARLY WAS WRONG. She thought that being strong and decisive in a moment of weakness was the only way, understanding only half way through how much it never was her choice to make, but Ambessa. As much as cait is smart she knew she could not outsmart her and with no Mel, no Jayce, no Vi, no Cassandra, even Viktor who perhaps as a friend of her brother could have been of some minimal help, was there. She tried to keep it under her name, under her leadership because she believe Ambessa could and would do worse. She always knew she was wrong, she had alwaysed been overwhelmed with other's opinion and decision, probably due to growing up with her mom as well. Even when Jinx got captured she just passively reacting keeping her alive, but not able to prevent her arrest. It's real and beautifully written and people that don't understand her are haters or lucky, cause it means you haven't gone through half of what she went through

Great analysis of Caitlyn! I agree with the majority of your points on her.

I will say that Caitlyn does care for Zaunites, in a general good person sense initially, and then Vi gives her a better understanding of how things are like in the undercity. But like Caitlyn said, the actions that Jinx and Silco took made it very hard for her to sympathize with them, making it easier to hate them in general. Vi is the counter point, showing her how good hearted many Zaunites are. But when Vi stops her from killing Jinx, she took that as a betrayal, Vi taking away her chance of avenging her mother and bringing Jinx to justice. Caitlyn eventually sees what her hate has done to her and led her to do, but it took that last push and interaction from Vi to help push Caitlyn in making the right choice.

"She loves vi but doesnt care dor Zaun". Please rewatch season 1 again. Despite the many many cues and the way she behaves, i will instead draw your attention to the conversation you missed and did not account for. Caitlyns conversation with her mother when she came back from the undercity. Listen to it. It will undo a lot of your analysis. It explains so much about caitlyn and her mother. Why Caitlyn actually withdrew from politics. Caitlyn became an enforrcer because she wanted to make the practical difference she didnt believe her mother was making for the people, especially the zaunites. In caitlyns eyes Cassandra is much more conservative than you make it out to be, with bigger reservations about the zaunites than caitlyn has. You failed to see this because you characterised caitlyn as being scared of the undercity when she spoke with jayce. That interaction actually showed caitlyn is very interested and intrigued in the undercity, a place she hasnt been allowed to step foot in because of her upbringing. Being scared/ way of the undercity as a dangerous place is somewhere in there but absolutely not the main driver behind caitlyns view of zaun and her desire to learn more about the place. I agree with some of your conclusive points tho, even if i dont agree with a lot of the details.

as a lesbian I can definitely say the shower scene was Cait yearning for Vi and besides reflecting on their breakup and regret of a different outcome the scene shows her determination and decision after to go after vi but unfortunately jinx kidnaps her

I find it sad that Caitlyn must have lived a lonely childhood. Compared with Vi who had her sister and her own friend group, Caitlyn's only friend was Jayce.

I think that Caitlyn was a bit unlucky in the timing of her nomination, and acceptance, of the role of Commander of Piltover. All her potential allies, and friendly advisors, basically disappeared at once; and, Ambessa was manoeuvring herself to control anyone in charge at the same time. For her own purposes, at that time, Ambessa played it well. She was obviously frustrated when she soon learned that Caitlyn could not be so easily manipulated, consider all the arguing between Ambessa and Caitlyn, and how Maddie tried to coax Caitlyn into stepping down from the role of Commander.

I think Vi was a giant idiot in season 2. After Caitlyn shoots the gun out of Isha's hand, which Isha was about to pull the trigger on, Vi climbs off Jinx. Caitlyn was telling Isha to move away from Jinx at the time. Vi could have held on to Jinx's leg and told Caitlyn that Jinx was still in custody. But because Vi got off, Caitlyn had to keep the gun trained on Jinx, lest she escape. Recall earlier, when Vi held Jinx down Caitlyn had lowered her rifle.
After Jinx's release of the Gray, Vi can't see Caitlyn's perspective. Jinx is a known, deranged, terrorist that Vi helped escape once mpre. Caitlyn knows things will now escalate between Piltover and Zaun, Vi was focused on one child. Vi doesn't seem to grasp that many more will suffer, and die because Jinx was not captured or killed. Can't blame Vi directly, but Caitlyn never becomes Commander if Jinx was captured/killed.(later when Vi is arguing with Caitlyn about Jinx in a cell, Caitlyn solely accepts responsibility for becoming Commander and doesn't throw it back in Vi's face).
Later, Vi leaves her fully loaded hextech gauntlets out in the dirt outside Viktor's commune. Isha takes the hextech crystals, Vi could have removed the crystals herself. Isha died because Vi, and Jinx, were clueless about child safety or safety in general.

Solid video, and while I agree with most of what you said, my biggest issue with Caitlyn is the abusive treatment of hers towards Vi at the end of the third episode in the second season. Sure, one could frame it as similar when Vi lashed out against Powder when all went south in the exactly one season earlier. But for there is a difference between sisters hurting each other and a romantic partner acting out violently.

Why did Caitlyn keep Jinx's Fate to herself?. In the Series Finale Caitlyn seems to be investigating the Hexgates blueprints holding what was left of Jinx's monkey bomb that Jinx used. So That means They already were looking for Jinx and Warwick's bodies at the Hex Gates and only found shrapnel from Jinx's bomb, When Caitlyn concentrated on the air vents on the blueprints she titled her head as if she was putting 2 and 2 together figuring Jinx got away. Still I have a feeling Cait was not going to share the news that Vi's sister was most likely Alive, even though officially according to the League of Legends Wiki, Jinx's Status is listed "UnKnown"(Presumed Alive). Is there a good reason Cait would not tell Vi?

I enjoyed this and hated it at the same time. You project a bit onto her, and i think it causes you to misread her in some parts and wish you stuck to the facts. Overall it was an interesting video! You grasp her character well regardless. Good luck with your video journey!

Buddy, your entire personality is your politics. Please get over this phase. It's not doing good to you. You are reducing a human story to a political one.
