Показать описание
Error code 1700, on a Canon G5050, indicates that the printers waste ink counter is full, so this video shows how to use the WICReset utility to reset the waste ink counter and clear the error.

You do need to be connected to the printer via a USB cable and will need a WICReset key to complete the process.

Keys are included with the Printer Potty G5 waste ink kit at:
...or separately via:

=== Chapters/Content Markers ===
00:00 - Intro
00:30 - Open WICReset app
00:49 - Bad info
01:05 - Service/Error code 1700
01:31 - Putting printer into "Service Mode"
02:05 - WICReset: start
02:26 - WICReset: system checks & prep
03:45 - WICReset: resetting
04:15 - Power cycle printer
04:37 - Printer reset confirmed

IMPORTANT: Please remember it's important to deal with the physical waste ink in the printer and not just reset to clear the error. The physical waste ink can and will eventually leak out of your printer if you do not replace the waste ink pads or fit an external waste ink tank.

UPDATE: The service mode instructions were updated within an hour of this video going online (thanks to the WICReset developers) so you won't get contradicting information from the app anymore.

Feedback always welcome and please check our other G5050 related videos for fitting the printer potty waste kit. Maybe get your printer back up and running with enough potential lives to rival a cat.

Just to note the WICReset has been updated so the G5050 information shown in the app is now correct.
You have to love responsive developers :)
