In 1975 North Vietnam took over Saigon, bringing an end to The Vietnam War. The U.S had already pulled out and the South couldn't hold off the North alone. The fall of Saigon marked the unification of Vietnam under communist rule. It was a tough and chaotic finish to one of the longest wars in U.S. history.
