This is NOT part of the pre-trip inspection format.

In this presentation, I discuss how to establish adequate school bus rules. Keep it simple and be in compliance with your district's policy.

For more details, refer to the policy of your local school district.

Thank you for stressing the concept of simplicity regarding the rules. Used this concept while raising my own kids and in the classroom. Your rules have a positive sound to them and kids appreciate this. Thank you, again, for your series of videos. I really appreciate your airbrake test video as well!

You said " do not fight be polite." Good rime man. The bus rules I would have if I was a school bus driver would be stay seated, no screaming on the bus, if you eat or drink on the bus PLEASE clean up after your self, if something spills let me know that instant so I can pull over and help you clean it, be completely silent as we approach a railroad track and don't make a sound until we left the track, keep your whole body inside the bus and out of the ile. First two offense I use are both warnings. If they fail I move them to a seat where I can keep a closer eye on that kid. If that fails I report to the parents, write the kid and have a conference between me, parents, and kid,

I want to say as a new bus driver, your videos have helped me a great deal. I have been having a major issue however. My bus route has been filled by substitute drivers for the first month of the school year while I was doing my training. It was almost like the other drivers let the kids run wild without any consequences. I feel as if this is making it extra hard to establish rules and it almost seems as if it leads to worse behavior when I try to enforce the rules. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
