Just a tip for you Monty, another way to do it is place your wide tape half way over the sharp machined area but instead of using a razor blade take a light weight ballpean hammer and using the ball of the hammer and lightly tap the sharp edge and it will cut the tape and your left with a exact copy of the machined block edge. I appreciate your video's so sorry to hear about the failed lifter man my heart sank for you .

P.S. it also is a good way to make your own gasket if you don't like the ones supplied in a gasket set.

So your rebuilding the engine after the lifter & cam going bad. Why aren't you completely dissembling the engine and hot tanking everything before painting?
