This demo is part of a Women's BCUSA Challenge, May 2017. We did a canoe camping trip at the New River State Park Memorial Day weekend in high water and rain. My husband broke his Cold Steel shovel handle and wanted to use it on this trip, so I repaired it while camping with minimal bushcrafting tools. I designed the handle for use to lift the lid on our dutch oven. I used my SAK Rucksack awl, and needed to modify the flat screwdriver to secure the handle with #3 phillips screws.

You could of got a small hardwood close to handle size and then cut one end to fit the shovel. Then put the screws back in and you'd have a serviceable handle.
