All you need to know about Nigeria. Welcome to positive Africa and thanks for watching. In today’s video, we shall be presenting a complete overview of Nigeria for those who want to know all important and deep facts about this West African country. Nigeria is a country located on the western coast of Africa, and has a diverse geography, with climates ranging from arid to humid equatorial, and is bordered to the north by Niger, to the east by Chad and Cameroon, to the south by the Gulf of Guinea of the Atlantic Ocean, and to the west by Benin. However, Nigeria’s most diverse feature is its people. Hundreds of languages are spoken in the country, including Yoruba, Igbo, Fula, Hausa, Edo, Ibibio, Tiv, and English. The country has abundant natural resources, notably large deposits of petroleum and natural gas. The national capital is Abuja, in the Federal Capital Territory, which was created by decree in 1976. Lagos, the former capital, retains its standing as the country’s leading commercial and industrial city. Modern Nigeria dates from 1914, when the British Protectorates of Northern and Southern Nigeria were joined. The country became independent on October 1, 1960, and in 1963 adopted a republican constitution but elected to stay a member of the Commonwealth. Nigeria is not only large in area; larger than the US state of Texas—but also Africa’s most populous country. With these quick facts noted, hang right in there for when we come back, we shall be taking a look at the people of Nigeria, their cultures and economy, daily life and social costumes, transport and telecommunication, educational system, crime rate, and lots more. #nigeria #africa

We might be interested in NIGERIA 🇳🇬. when they clean up the corruption, , , and start to share the country’s wealth with the people.

Informative, though I can pick some holes in this narrative. One point to make is perhaps the use of a local voice for commentary so the names can at least be pronounced right. For instance it is "Sa-pe-le", not "Sapil"!

Crime is rife across the country but it is most prevalent among the Fulani.

The figures are not right in 1963 Yoruba, Hausas and Igbo were almost equal in number with both Hausa and Yorubas making up 20% of the population each and Igbo 17%. So not sure how the Hausa population has suddenly doubled while the Yorubas have experienced a 5% decrease and the Igbo a 2% decrease. The north might have a higher birth rate but it has the lowest life expectancy in the world. The populations should still be roughly even with Hausa at 22% Yoruba 19% and 1gbo 17%bringing the total to 58% for the 3 major groups. Rest of Nigeria makes up the 32%. If you ad Fulani to Hausa then yes they constitute roughy 28% of the population. Religion wise the figures are not right. Muslims make up 47% of the population, Christians 44% and others 9%

Hausa does not have 30% of the population. That is a political figure. Yorubas and Igbos each are in fact more populated than the Hausas. Landmass does not translate to a high population. The North has a vast open land that is scantly populated while their populated cities often maintain an average of 20% Igbo population, just facts.

In the narrator's opinion, Nigeria is a complete disaster.
