This scene and the bus scene just kind of make you realize or remember how precious life is. We feel like we’re here for a long time but when you stop to look back, you realize we’re just here for a moment. We go through so many ups and downs and yet those happy little moments are what makes life so worth it. Like when you’re laughing so hard your cheeks and your belly start to hurt or when you just look at the person you love and you feel so much peace and love for them or when you play with your pet or your kids or you eat your favorite meal etc. As someone who dealt with depression for many years and contemplated life many times, actually asking the winds what I was made for while crying in my isolation… coming out of that and learning to love and appreciate life- these scenes and the song had a very specific effect on my emotions.

This song has so much depth. It’s not just about barbie. It’s not just for girls. Who hasn’t wondered what they were made for, or can’t relate to the feelings expressed in this song at some point or another when contemplating their purpose? It also has that tragic beauty that really drives the pain from that search for meaning home

As a straight male who is in love with cinematography, the ending really hit me hard. It was so breath taking to see Barbie and ruth standing in that Pink, cosmic abyss. Ruth telling Barbie that she can be whatever she wants to be with this music... man it had me choked up big time.

In the theaters I wanted to cry at the ending when all the childhood memories started rolling across the screen but I remembered that I wasn't alone in that theater, however, my grandma who is in her 50's did. She has already lost her mother, father, brother and daughter aka my mom in the last few years so I think it just made her really emotional.
