I'm a 62 year old man and I guess I must live in a cave, I haven't seen the movie or ever listened to Billie till now. This song ( the words ) tore me up emotionally and really struck a cord with people like me that deal with depression and wondering what was I made for in everything in life. Very very powerful emotional song for me.

More than just song of the year, it's easily song of the decade. This is a song that will seem fresh forever. A very rare feat in music.

I was so delighted with how much this movie was like a love letter to aging. It's something everyone, especially women, are trained from day one to fear and hate. But aging is a privilege. Wrinkles and grey hairs and stretch marks and all of it. It's a gift. Dying young isn't beautiful. Being able to live long is.

We agree that “What Was I Made For” is the “My Heart Will Go On” of the new generations, but instead of dealing with love, it delves into existential crises. As a psychology student, I’ve realized that this song truly heals. hold a special place in the hearts of listeners, offering solace and connection through their melodies and lyrics. It truly have the power to heal and provide comfort during challenging times.

This song is clean crisp smooth angelic. Not degrading yelling or cursing. You are the GOAT. Never doubt your authenticity

Margot has talked about being able to think of a sad thing and produce tears on command. It’s her special power.

I'm 50 as of last week, male, and very much alone in this world. This song is an absolute masterpiece. Billie's talent is undeniable and although I know she won't see this comment and/or care, please know I appreciate you and I'm almost certain other men do as well. Your demographic may be primarily teenage girls but trust me when I say, your impact reaches much further boundaries. ♥

This song reminds me of when songwriters wrote songs because they believed in the songs, cared about the art and spent time making them perfect. Billie Eilish is throwback to when the Beatles, Pink Floyd and others made masterpieces, not mere disposable hit songs. I hope Billie and Finneas can continue this journey and pursue great music and NOT just fame and money.

As a 55-year-old guy, not many songs can bring me to tears, apart from this one. I haven't watched the movie as of yet, however, after listening to Billie singing these beautiful words I will take the time to watch the movie. I guess whilst listening to the song we kind of reflect on life in the past and what could have been.

I found out the lady sitting on the bench with Barbie is a well-known costume designer that goes by the name of Ann Roth, who was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Costume Design five times, winning twice. Such a lovely scene in this video watching both of them smile at each other.

Update, I never usually update any of my previous YouTube comments, I finally got around to watching the movie, what can I say?, certainly wasn't expecting the way the storyline went as I thought it was geared towards youngsters only but was pleasantly surprised, kinda very much hit home about us as human beings and on how we should treat people, kindness will always win.

I also realised why I cried at this scene, when Margot looks at the lady, then smiles, it triggered a memory of an ex-girlfriend that had the same smile and pose and as stated above what I said "what could have been". Funny how the brain can trigger these memories and emotions, however, at the time you never know why things make you cry, I now know it was/is happy tears.

Those chord changes, lyrics and whispering delivery are just so emotional...it's no wonder it won a Grammy and an Oscar. It's a masterpiece!

The final scene in Barbie with this song is so incredibly beautiful and emotional. It not only depicts womanhood & the human conditions but also celebrates the authenticity & ordinary of our human lives. This scene celebrates life. I cried in the theater during this scene.
