I tried experimenting with Drift a couple of times and had no success. Your video inspired me, thanks for that. I didn't even understand the effect of the "Drift" parameter😅

”Best” or ”most versatile” aside, I think it’s the best-sounding synth in Live, altho it certainly doesn’t lack competition! (edit: I’m not a native english speaker, but I get the feeling ”lacks” is a little clunky in that sentence. Does ”it certainly has competition” feel more natural to your ears? Comments welcome!)

What a great walkthrough, good pace and easy to understand, definitely inspired me to take a deeper look this weekend and start making some patches :)

Good stuff. Love Drift, and one of the reasons I love it is the really nice Push UI. All of the Ableton synths work well with Push, of course…but it feels like they have really put some additional time and thought into the Push UI of the newer synths (like Drift). With Drift (as well as Meld, and a couple others), you have a UI for your synth that is pretty comparable to, say, a Hydrasynth (eight knobs mapped in sections that can be switched between with a button tap). 😁

The best is Operator, hands down. But you made this feel good. Gonna give it a try now.

Wow, fantastic walkthrough. I have always been a bit put off by the learning curve of drift and I end up going to the ol' faithful wavetable. I feel better equipped to tackle this beast now. I think I will slap a load of echo and reverb on it and create some interesting growls and textures.

Drift is simple but not simplistic and its pretty much my go to synth now.
If i need something more experimental i go to meld or wavetable.
For electronic music, if you were to begin now, no need for third party software.

Haven't paid much attention to Drift so far. Will do so for sure after watching your video. One thing I'd like to see is how to create more useful sounds with Drift (like you did with the Pad sound). The other examples are good see the more crazy side, but I never feel they're really useful. So I'd really like to see a little tutorial on how to create some nice lead, bass, etc. using Drift.
