We used this technique in interviewing suspected offenders of kids (neglect/abuse/s. abuse, etc.). I agree, people can't explain things when you take them out of order. You'll see the deception.

I had a horrific memory about someone, that when it came out, the person was told that perhaps it was a false memory because they couldn't remember it. It disturbed me to my core so i went to a counselor and said i need to know if this is a false memory. If it was I wanted to know because I was certain it could not be false.
It was not false.
Hearing this really reassures me because every exact detail is the same every single time clear as day.

My friends know that lies are wasted on me, I remember almost everything in detail, in fact for me it’s more difficult to forget. They cold it an eidetic or photographic memory. Sometimes it’s handy when I can’t find something, it can even be something I read and yes then I go backwards to find it. Seeing it like a film in my head and always right, only when someone replaced it without telling me, what they sometimes do just to test me. It’s sometimes difficult noticing the smallest details and things I don’t want to know, but it’s like you have learned something, you can’t unlearn it so I better like it ❤❤❤❤❤

I can't say the alphabet backwards. Being an alcoholic airline pilot, I had to take a battery of psych tests too go back to work. You can read 10 numbers and I can tell them back to you backwards. No problem. I even copied the alphabet backwards in case stopped by the police. I can't do it. Why?

Ha ! My mum taught me the alphabet forwards and backwards when i was very young and i can still recite the alph backwards just as convincingly as forwards : )
