Willy Wonka is not the only mad genius of the confectionary arts. The world of candy production is a surprisingly experimental place with companies such as ‘Cadburys’, ‘Mars Wrigley’ and ‘Reese’s’ stumbling over each other to try and create the next best way to annihilate children’s teeth. But some of their wacky inventions were just a little too crazy for the terrified masses so sadly went the way of the dodo. You can look but you can’t taste. Because, you know, they don’t exist anymore... These are discontinued candies that went too far!

I remember in the 90’s my schoolmates snorting pixie sticks, not smarties. It was the “cool” thing to do. That’s when I learned that people who do things because it’s popular are the real idiots...

Also, candy cigarettes were the best (the chalked ones), and I’ve never been a smoker of any kind.
