Nothing can bring on a fit of nostalgia faster than wistfully remembering some of your favorite candies you ate as a kid. It’s hard to get kids today to understand that they just don’t make candy like they used to. It can be difficult to explain the exhilarating feeling that accompanied opening a piece of Bazooka Joe and reading the comic wrapped around the near-jaw-dislocating piece of gum inside. However, it’s probably best that they are blissfully unaware of how cool you felt “smoking” a candy cigarette. In this video, we’ve compiled 17 old-school candies that should make a comeback.

I remember Bazooka bubble gum. I wanted the tiny comic that was included in each one. Boy does this bring back memories. How the years fly by!

Does anyone remember the little soda pop looking bottles of flavoured liquids contained in wax enclosures, or the smiley lips made of flavoured wax?

Bazooka gum at 5 cents? Back in my days, they were 1 cent. Cheap for us and business for the dentists.

Some of my favorites as a kid were Chick-O-Sticks and Sugar Babies! Another one in the 70s were Zots! A small piece of hard, fruit flavored candy with an Alka Seltzer like fizzy center! I loved it when I heard of a band around 1990 that called themselves "The Strawberry Zots", because I just knew they were from my era! Haha!

I do miss those candy 'cigarettes'. Me and the neighborhood kids used to love them because they made us feel like adults back then. lol

I remember when button candy on paper wasn't wrapped. There was a roll and the clerk just pulled off what she thought was a pennies worth. We didn't care about germs, we were playing in the dirt while munching.

Someone might have already pointed this out but Space Dust is actually the precursor of Pop Rocks. I liked them both as a kid.

Anyone remember the shredded jerky that resembled chewing tobacco!? That was my favorite right along side the candy cigarettes

Remember the Wacky Packages with the stickers that put a humorous spin on everyday grocery items? Like Windex = Winhex, Old Spice = Old Spit, etc. I was 10...Great times.

The Bazooka Joe comic also was also coupon on the back that allowed you to collect a certain amount of them to be sent in for a knife or some toy.

My grandmother always had Chuckles candy in purse to reward good behavior. Loved those fruit flavored sugar coated jelly squares.

Does anyone remember candy cigs that were made out of chocolate? It was the size of a regular CIG but it had a real paper around it. I miss them for sure.

I loved astropops and hadn’t thought about them in years. My favorite candy bar was a Marathon bar, a long, skinny twisted candy bar made from milk chocolate and caramel. It was always my go-to treat at the movies!

Used to love those candy cigs. There was a gum cig that if you blew in it a puff of powdered sugar would come out like smoke. I though I was doing something.

We bought Bazooka when I was a kid (1950s); it was a penny and never hard.

I remember watching tv and seeing the “Bonkers” candy commercials. It was the only one I didn’t mind watching😂
I also remember a candy bar called “BarNone”. I loved those! I wish they’d make a comeback😋

Bazooka brings back some great memories for me. Our barber would always end our haircut with the line, ”how about a chew, Hammer?” And then he would give us a Bazooka bubble gum. My brother and I often discuss this very fact when talking about our well liked barber who past 4 or 5 years ago. Funny how such a small gift can instill so many pleasant memories. One of my brothers kept his hair short, like me and got to go quite often to keep up with the tales of Bazooka Joe and blow some bubbles. Such great memories of the barber shop.
