That was quite insightful~! The part where you said you don't need a ton of listings to start resonated with me, because this is exactly the excuse I’ve been telling myself to not open one: "I don't have enough items yet" 😅but I guess you’re right, one listing is enough to already start! Thanks so much for sharing!✨

I think I'm going to shift focus maybe...I wanted an art business, but I also enjoy sewing and making things. People have bought the bags I carry because I carried them in public and made them myself. Maybe thats the way to go. I've sold more tote bags than art. 😅

How long do you wait before you start changing things up on your listings?

Very interesting video, thanks for sharing. I'm putting a lot of effort in my shop since the beginning of 2023 and it goes in the right direction I think. But I really have to optimize my listing pictures (yours are amazing!!) and inform myself more about SEO. I know it's important, but also so boring (at least for me) 😅 My goal for this year is to reach 250 sales (95 to go). 🎉

Great video, thank you for this,

About the point on Ads, you made, yes they can be a great tool to increase exposure to your shop but its just like the tags point you made, ie... if the ads are fine-tuned specifically they're mostly ineffective which can be costly. You can make them more effective by targeting but this in itself requires more time and research into how to work the algorithms better which are constantly changing, this would draw time from creating products.

Since most of your sales are coming through internally via Etsy, that definetely justifies putting more time into the actual production and brand as you've stated and that will in turn make the business much more sustainable. Apologies for the long comment but In-short dont worry about the ads, organic (internal) traffic seems to be your main sales channel so more listing should lead to more sales and views just through etsy's internal algorythm.

Best of luck

Not Etsy related question: Why do so many YouTubers sit on the floor next to their bed or next to the sofa instead of sitting on it? Just curious.

im horrible at using the proper hashtags/titles/optimising things for sale. ive done the market research but obvs need to do more. i dont use etsy anymore because of the fees, and since most of my stuff is digital, gumroad looks like he best fit for me right now
