I use garryson garryflex abrasive blocks to clean old sap off tools, i have a set of four ranging from fine to coarse. Very effective. Similar to niwaki crean mate.

Love my felco no2’s and 8’s. You didn’t get the sap off your blade I advise you use a Niwaki cream mate bar they’ll come up nice shiny like new 👍🏻
