Former active duty infantryman and combat vet here...he retired 2 months before combat orders came down and he was a battalion command sergeant major....he knew by then. They don't just write the orders and tell you that day. Certainly not at that level. A deployment requires enough lead time for qualification training, logistics, force build-up. My entire unit knew six months in advance.

This is a far more insidious thing than people seem to realize. The command sergeant major is the head of the noncommissioned officers for an entire battalion. He would have been involved in planning that mission at every level, should have built relationships with the entire noncom chain, would be aware of every detail and intricacy. As a cmd sgt major the chance of him facing combat or being in danger is virtually nil, but the loss of preparation for a unit like did a real number on that unit by leaving then.

You don't retire going into a deployment. You retire after the deployment.

F*cking disgrace.

I just want to know, how exactly does one go from the least popular Vice President in history to the savior of the nation in less than 6 months?

He handed out 18k licenses— to illegals.
He passed legislation to allow/financially support children to get trans procedures.
He also Had a hotline to report on your neighbors during Covid lockdown That was active all the way to 2022.
He also made tax payers pay 17k A MONTH for a lake house.
All of this can be found online.

I was in the Army Reserve for 6 yrs. I was a truck driver. Im embarrassed and rarely mention it because I dont consider what I did as a sacrifice to the country. walz should be ashamed of himself for trying to claim (no matter how vaguely) he "fought in war". What a maggot! Kudos to the Real fighters who went to war for our Country! They are the HERO'S!

For clarification on his military orders there are several very significant points: I have been deployed from the Reserves several times, so I know how this works. First you get notice (not orders). You will then be given a date to report and put under temporary orders. The military does this to make sure you are not a liability to the government when getting deployed. They make sure you aren't pregnant, make sure you aren't a drug addict and give you a drug test, conduct some medical tests, etc. If you pass this, you are then given your official orders. Walz "retired" two months before his official orders, so he definitely knew they were getting deployed. He was also the Command Sergeant Major so he was the top enlisted solider in his unit, so he would be the very first person to know. Him and the commanding officer. Also, you don't accept a Command Sergeant Major (top pay grade of E-9) position and then retire....UNLESS you retire to avoid going to a war zone, which it appears is exactly what he did. This is also why it is reported that he was eventually demoted to Master Sergeant (pay grade E-8) because he didn't fulfill his commitment to that position.

I am a veteran of Afghanistan and Iraq in the US Army active duty for 8 years. Walz is a phony and I absolutely disgusted with his stolen valor.

Quitting to avoid deployment is the same as a female service member getting pregnant to avoid deployment. Before my unit deployed, one of the women in my unit did exactly that.

The day we were given the warning order, she went home and informed her husband that they were going to get pregnant. She managed to get pregnant within the next couple months, and avoided the deployment altogether.

This dude is a liar. Be honest. I've served in the National Guard for 19 years. During that time, I served one tour in Iraq. I was also one of the Guardsmen on the ground in Ferguson back in 2014. During my time in service, I've been a decent Soldier, but I'm not going to claim to be a great one. If I had to bring it down to a single word: mediocre.

My deployment to Iraq was a non-combat deployment. I provided medical care to Iraqi detainees. The closest I came to combat was when insurgents fired rockets into our base.

Walls' descriptions of what he did is a brilliant example of doublespeak. He intentionally created a dishonest impression while being "technically" honest. Also, I don't buy that he didn't know about the orders coming down the pike two months after he retired.

If he was the Bn SGM, he had the security clearance necessary to know for a fact that his unit was up in the rotation. Units aren't selected randomly based on capabilities, there is an established rotation. If his Battalion was next in the rotation, the Battalion Sergeant Major would absolutely be in the know on that, because they're involved in every bit of the planning process from beginning to end.

Walz isn't even that old. He is only 6 months older than Harris. He just looks like crap.

*Walz thought “hamburger hill” came with fries.* 🍟

*Walz thought “battle of the bulge” was a pride month game show.* 😂

At Trump's next rally, everyone behind him should hold up a sign that asks: "WHERE'S KAMALA?"

Let us just say that all of Kamala's walls have a few holes in them.

Years ago I was in the Air Force reserve and we were slated to deploy and did not get our orders until a month or two before we actually got on the plane to deploy. Your unit knows if it is chosen to be deployed months before your orders are actually in hand.

Don’t forget, he also lied about being and retiring a Command Sergeant Major, he never completed the requirements and was demoted when he retired…

I was in Iraq at the same time as his unit and he had to have known it was heating up in that area. Command teams were receiving pre deployment briefings months prior to their deployment. He was scared and ran. Disgusting

JD Vance is showing some serious badassery out there in the campaign trail. I hope he keeps it up and gets even better.

He knew that he was deploying and units know well in advance that they're going to deploy before the orders actually drop. And as a veteran I know.
