It is always lovely seeing MD-11's still in service.

So many people were surprised here in the US when the US Air flight hit the geese and ditched in the Hudson River. I don't think most people realized how serious the danger of bird strikes really is. I am also impressed that these pilots and controllers who speak English as a second language can understand each other when I, as a native speaker, can't understand them very well at all (when they are speaking English, obviously). This is not meant as a criticism. Their English is far better than my Dutch! :P

Well done, my the translation must be a real bear to do. Ever since the US Airways landing on the Hudson, greater attention is given to bird strikes, in a similar example the Swiss Air entertainment system overheat, smoke, turns into fire; crash into the Atlantic; we take smoke reports extremely seriously. Today's safe flying had its origin with the deaths of many.
