Dollar General hasn’t ever, in my lifetime, been $1 items… Dollar Tree has, but is now $1.25! And the actual Dollar Store, and 99¢ store… closer… but you are right, inflation stinks! ❤

I’m 28 and the Dollar General has never been a dollar store as far as I can remember. It’s just cheaper than average stores. The dollar tree is the one that has always been everything for a dollar. But recently, even the dollar tree is $1.25. They even have some things for five dollars there.

I’ve realized that the dollar store and the dollar general are two different things, the dollar store goes for about $1.50 to $2.00. The dollar general on the other hand is like 1- 20 or smt like that 👍

You went to the Dollar General lady. Dollar Tree is different from Dollar General and Family Dollar they prices are way more than a dollar. Now, due to the inflation, Dollar Tree items can go up to $1.25. Meaning that they're not a dollar anymore.

Dollar General works better in rural areas where it's the only store within 20+ minutes, or when it's supplementing a more expensive rural grocery store.

Dollar Tree has a place in urban areas though. If you buy the right things for $1.25 you can get great deals
