How to export and save videos? Choosing the right format and settings

In today’s episode, we’ll show you the best way to save your travel videos, but if you don’t have one or it’s not edited yet, check this tutorial on how to create a travel video:

Video file formats normally consist of a container for the video data and a codec which is used to code or decode the video and audio. The container is the file you can see on your computer or smartphone. It contains the audio track, the video track, a description, subtitles, and the many other items that make up a complete, viewable video. The codec compresses the contents of the container. It encodes the original image and sound during the process of shooting and then, when you start watching, decodes the image and sound to make them viewable.

1920х1080 is perfect for YouTube or watching a video at home. If you want to watch the video on your phone or publish it on Instagram, 1280х720 is enough. But if your video was shot in 1280х720, saving it as a file of higher resolution makes no sense, because it won’t make the image any better.

The frame rate, or FPS (frame per second), is the number of frames that can be shown every second in your video. We recommend you choose 24 or 30 fps; don’t set a higher fps than the original video.

The bitrate sets the image quality and file size. It can be set automatically by the program or manually by the user. There is also the VBR option, which is a variable bitrate in which the program sets different bitrates for different parts of the video. If it’s a short and dynamic video, 20,000 kb/s is the best option. If it’s a 3-hour long recording of a university lecture, 5,000 kb/s is enough ‘cause the quality is less important. Setting a higher bitrate than the original file doesn’t change anything.

Hi guys.
I am exporting a video of 00:39 min and it is size of 2.4GB. Even if you change the settings, the video loses quality and the size is still large.
In other applications, a 1-hour video exported to MP4 comes with 280mb, with 720p resolution.
Which setting do you use to not lose quality and the video does not get so great?

mine saids unknown error in the middle of exporting how do i fix it reply with all youre tips as i tried so many things and i have had this problem for a a while but its only gotten worse and worse and i Think its Because it has a 3gb ram limit but how do i remove it as i was in task manages and noticed that it had the error when it hit more than 3, 000mb usage so you have a fix please im using movavi 14 plus

If I choose good instead of high to make the export faster, would if affect the quality of my 4k video resolution. Because since I used Movavi suite video editor 2021 I always used high in exporting it but it took me a decade to finish and same time uploading it to my youtube channel. Hello, can you help me!! I have created a video that includes videos of my 4k drone and videos of my Full HD camera. When I cut the project everthing was still ok, but when I exported it, the drone videos were no longer present in the video. But it was only black to see. The camera‘s videos were still normal. Why are the drone‘s videos in the movie gone ???

Question on Export Settings: is there any reason for tiny deviations from maximum possible settings to the preset defaults? The gains in weight or processing time should be little, if any, that what’s the rationale behind those differences? For example:

Hi, I'm making music videos, but when I export video in MP4 format it makes weird glitch sounds at certain points, but when I export in AVI format it's OK.

So if I shoot a video in 30 fps. But then change to 60 or 120 fps so I can slow that part of the video down, then go back to 30 fps, can I export a video with different fps in the same video?

I have this problem, I opened an mp4 video of 39 MB in Movavi Editor Plus, did not add anything, clicked in Export, wow the new video will be 411MB, I think something is wrong with this video editor. Thanks
