Cruising French Canals On A Sailboat! (Part 1/2) [Ep 4]

In this episode: Basel, Switzerland to Montbeliard, France.

This was the bucket list item I never knew I had: Cruising through the inland waterways of France on a gorgeous sailboat. We navigate locks, rivers, and narrow canals –– all on board our beautiful (and newly restored!!) Vindo 32 sailboat. This video shows you some of the beautiful scenery we've encountered, as well as telling you about how locks work.

Autumn Leaves! Perfect Jazz song! You wonderful sailors! Just started watching tonight. I lived in St. Augustine, Florida on my 1971 Irwin sailboat until the recent hurricanes. Back on Lake Erie by Put in Bay and Marblehead area. Just bought a 22ft Catalina. Have to be on the water.

The staircase of locks that you mention is called a flight of locks. I know someone has already told you this, but the notion of a flight of locks is so evocative, I couldn't resist.

It's beautiful. The effect is almost like looking back through time at a simpler time. I often get the same feeling when watching my great uncle's super 8 videos we have of nearly every family reunion and vacation when he was alive. I love your music selection also.
