I went to the National World War 1 Museum and Memorial in Kansas City Missouri. They had his very own tunic, medals, and military cap on display. He was truly one of the last Great Prussian Generals.

Well it wasn't really that shame how he carried on, he later became a president of the Weimar republic (interwar Germany) and lead Germany good way but then the Nazis came, won in the elections in the start of 30's and there was a really big pressure on Hindenburg also from his own son to appoint Hitler to the chancellor post. Old war hero was also very old, he was already 86 and there occured some senility on him so he appointed Austrian painter although he didn't like him. Then, he died and the post of president disappeared. But still, Paul von Hindenburg is consider a german war hero and brilliant strategist and tactic of the all time.
