So no lack of food production but there's a lack of truckers and air freight getting the food to the stores. Isn't that the same as a lack of food for the consumers to purchase? Hence, a food shortage? People do need to stop the hoarding though. There would be enough if everyone would stop being selfish.

It's the shortage if I can't see any foods before my eyes! Who cares the foods in the warehouse or fields!

Thank you Reuters! I only stocked one week's food supply. I bought one of three hand sanitizers available. Got the rest of my shopping done with no problem. After that, nada. Meat and bakery shelves were empty. Why toilet paper? This hoarding might be all to the good! Items sitting on shelves, for god knows how long, will be replenished with newer stock.
I've now been stocking with two weeks supplies. Still can't make a one way shopping trip.

If more people are at home, not going to restaurants, not eating fast food, then of course grocery stores will be empty. More people are eating at home now
