We will begin as usual with recent developments in SpaceX’s Starbase. Then we will share Biden’s comments on Musk and we’re ending with a quite interesting update where China is going to develop their own Mega rocket.

An interesting title. Of course everyone already knows - NASA included - that SLS is obsolete. I still wish the Artemis 1 mission wil be successful but it should never have existed in the first place. Too bad progress on StarShip is also slow. Do NOT underestimate China! China is very ambitious with their (crewed) space program.

Oh the irony... When Trump was POTUS, China was a bad thing. Elon Musk gushes praise of China and now it's questioning that adoration of a rival superpower that is a bad thing.

Engineering Today, for the first time ever, I’m not giving you a Thumbs Up, and it’s because- frankly- you were lazy in just reporting Biden’s words about Elon, without noting that there’s a Reason for them…..and the reason even relates to SpaceX. The Chinese Communist Party has ALREADY gotten Elon to change one of his unrelated companies - i.e., SpaceX’s- policy, by holding his single largest asset- Tesla/Shanghai- hostage. Last month, Elon all but admitted- publicly, now- that, when he boasted about “turning on” SpaceX’s Starlink in Iran to support freedom of speech there, the CCP came to him & demanded he commit that SpaceX - totally unrelated to Tesla/Shanghai- would Never do that for the Chinese people- & he caved. Same week, he proposed that Taiwan compromise their freedom in light of CCP threats. In addition……it turns out that, after Elon, the SECOND largest shareholder of Twitter is…..the Saudis; who have recently jailed a visiting American citizen….for one of his tweets. (Look it up). Now Elon’s taken over sole private, non-transparent control of what he call’s Earth’s main ‘public square’- with a track record of having caved in to at least one authoritarian entity who still holds his largest asset hostage. Bottom Line: Elon is Earth’s most dynamic, game-changing entrepreneur/industrialist- who also not only has an immaturity streak a kilometer wide, but has publicly admitted to being willing to change policies at one of his companies to protect profits at another. If I had been Biden, I would have been MUCH STRONGER with my words. - Dave Huntsman
