Let me introduce you to my idea of akumatizing Marinette 🦋

I can't believe I actually finished this animatic after I started working on it in July this year. Originally this was supposed to be a pretty tame little diashow-like music video. But I cannot stop my hands from adding more and more frames and drawings and here we are. Some scenes took a lot longer to draw and put together than others, especially the action focused ones. But I am really glad I pulled through.

I ll finally leave a comment because each it pops up i rewatch it. The only concept of Nooroo making someone his champion without passing by a holder is already phenomal. We saw what Plag could do alone, and recently tikki, but OH BOY. It would'nt even need the consent of the champion, just a straight up overpowered being.
The other thing I love here is the use of apathy. I don't it's used enough, but it's so thematically strong. Everything Marinette ever did is care. She cares for the city, she cares for the miracluous, she cares for her friends, her family, she cares about her dream, her school life, and love life; and what does everything that she cares like that do ? It kills her from within. The pressure, the failure, the bad talk she has sometimes, and all, all the pain. It all stays inside, bottled up, because she can't let it go. It's a secret, it's to protect, it's better like that. When Nooroo finally gives her something her hearts want : it's not care. It's not feel anything anymore. No more pain, yes, but really it is no more pressure, no more anxiety. Her heart judged that everything good didn t outweight the bad, so it just went drastic and cut everything.

And it also brings her motivation like that, and also tied with the solo nooroo action : her goal. Normally, each vilain has a personal goal and gabriel keep them in check to bring him the miraculous. But in her case ? It's purely her wish being fullfilled. No one to keep her in line. And linked to her now apathy : simply destroying everything that brings pain. I don't think she would go personnal, like attacking Chloe or something like that, more : destroying the miraculous. As she fights the holders lead by Alya, she just wants to destroy those powerful artefacts that brought her so much troubles. Because that's really what caused her SO MUCH pressure and pain : the vilains, Gabriel's fool dream to bring his wife back making him forget the ones alives around him, her mentor that spends his whole life trying to rewrite a wrong, and most of all : her secret.

On a last note, and it's more farfetched here. Nooroo and Gabriel always stocked the akuma into an item of the champion. But here ? Nothing. Nooroo and the peacock miraculous are both very much linked to matter : one needs it to give power and the other give matter to something that don't have any (emotions). The crazy idea is : what if Nooroo learned from the peacock here ? What if he gaves power into something immaterial : something that cannot be contained and is theorically infinite. It brings a LOT of questions, the most important : how do we destroy it to free the akuma ? AND HERE COMES THE GENIUS OF MARINETTE'S DESIGN HERE (not linked to my theory, but more ing general) she doesn't have an akuma, SHE IS THE AKUMA. And it really encapsulate the whole point of the show, a bit childish at time : you can't ignore your emotions.
Most of the time, they breaks the items, fix paris and the now ex vilain does something to not feel like that anymore ( or is cast away in case of already evil person). Here, with Marinette, it's not possible. You cannot free her in the classical method. And we can go even farther : would they need to break her or to purify her ? They can't ignore her feelings because SHE IS the feelings, overflowing and destroying everything around in the process.

I absolutely adored the idea of everyone having to fight (save) an overly powerful akumatized Marinette. And I personally love that isntead of a crazy, evil laughting villain, she looks beautiful but emotionless

I like the idea of everything getting so out of hand that hawkmoth himself realises his mistakes and teams up with the heroes in order to set things straight
I also like the idea of marinette being the last akumatized person in the show and all the heroes having to fight her without the aid of the ladybug miraculous

This is so beautiful- and the ending. That even at her very worst. Dull, mindless and drowned in her sorrow. Even then, Marinette still offers her hand to the one who cause her so much pain, when Gabriel falls to his knees and apologises.
She pushes away Chat Noir, her friends. But him? Him she lets in.
Because he has felt that same despair as she has. And she understands. (And the way "you caused this" hits right then? OUCH)

After poor Nathalie met the same fate as Gabriel's wife, Nooroo cannot bear the despair and pain of his master and takes matters into his own hands to get a hold of the Miraculous' and the wish. When he impulsively seizes the chance of akumatizing an exhausted and overwhelmed Marinette things spiral out of control. Without a holder Nooroo is able to create immensely powerful champions - but their powers come at the cost of losing their mind and Nooroo is not able to take the powers away he once granted. Only solving the person’s problem can detransform Nooroo‘s Akuma. And Marinette‘s most unbearable suffering comes from the responsibility of being Ladybug and her duty to protect Paris every day.

The repetitive "and you caused it" is so fitting for Gabriel in this animatic; he caused Marinette so much pain and agony with his meddling that her becoming so OP when akumatized was all down to him.
Beautiful. Poetic. 10/10 would watch again.

This would be a PERFECT series finale. The idea of Marinette being that last person to be akumatized, and she's receiving Nooroo's full, raw power, is so poetic and makes for such a damn good payoff.

This is so fantastic, the emotion, the timing, the look an Marinette's face after she's become akumatized it's all so amazing. It's like shes about to cry but also so calm at the same time. The lighting and colouring is so awesome and I can't forget about the fact that her akumatized form is an akuma, it perfectly represents how the kwami's have no control of there powers. The show would be 100 times better if they hired you!

I keep coming back to this because, its just phenominal. You managed to do, in 4 minutes, what the writers couldn't in a whole season. You told a story so amazing and beautiful, honestly, this is just amazing. So many people go for such an angry akumatised Marinette (which, dont get me wrong, the girl deserve to be angry af) but you took her and made her tragically beautiful. even with all the destruction going on, she looks ethereal and beautiful and calm and sad. like she finally shed all the burdens of emotions in her heart. this was just so amazing, im honestly speechless. i dont think words do this justice to how incredible your work is. Not only the animatic itself, the ideas, the way the frames have been integrated to fit the song's lyrics, the face expressions, not to mention how in-character everyone is without them having to talk... Nooroo felt the girl's anguish. Her pain was palpable. Gabriel wasn't going to like it, but this girl needed help. The intensity of the emotions went way off the charts. Nooroo felt the enormous power surge into the girl. She felt it too. Quickly taking in the situation, she screamed. Everything had been going wrong. Why this? Why now? She just wanted everything to disappear. She didn't want this massive responsibility to Paris, she didn't want to have to juggle her double life at school, and most of all, she didn't want these emotions anymore. She screamed for all of this to just stop! Nooroo's power granted her that wish. A listless apathy soon spread over her. None of it mattered anymore. All of Paris was going to be torn apart by the storm in her head made manifest and circling above. The racing thoughts and pangs of emotion are now replaced with racing winds and pangs of lightning. She flutters up above the city diminishing its presence in her mind. Why is this here if it hurts me? The wind and lightning increase in intensity. Nooroo worries that might have been the wrong choice to get back at his master, but surely Ladybug and Catnoir will save the city as they always do, right?

This. This is why I love the miraculous fandom. Hands down the best miraculous animatic I’ve ever seen. It was so dynamic, bittersweet, and downright gut wrenching. Not to mention the amazing song choice and absolutely BEAUTIFUL artwork. Amazing job, now if you’ll excuse me, *I’ll be rewatching this about 10, 000 more times.*
