The lore behind this could be that: Luka finds out at a young age about his father and starts to hate him because he left him for his dream of being famous, it grew until he despised the people that made his father famous and blames them for his father leaving. (He still likes music) Luka eventually meets gabriel and gabriel senses that he could use him as a greater asset to his plan. Gabriel looks into lake and somehow finds out of Luka's relation to jagged. He offers Luka help on his revenge on his father as hawkmoth. Luka intrigued agrees to become his parter. Hawkmoth hands him the peacock miraculous or just tells him he will give him power with the akumas. Beforehand hawkmoth makes him promise that he will not hurt Adrien Agreste ever. Luka is suspicious of this and decides to investigate. Then he meets marinette and he falls in love with her. Although he notices her odd behavior when shes around adrien and realizes her feelings for adrien. Marinete tells luka all about adrien and luka starts to dislike him even more. Marinete introduces them to eachother and when Luka goes to shake adrian's hand he holds it tightly and wisper's to adrien "you're only only still alive because I made a promise". Adrien is confused by this.
Although eventually at some point he will realize that Luka works with hawkmoth with various events leading till then as a connect the dots type of thing. This would be close to the time Luka finds out about hawkmoth's identity but keeps it hidden from him. He would still use the snake miraculous he would be working for both sides for a while. Just like in the actual show he would find out about LB's Identity. He wouldnt reveal it to hawkmoth and he would be confused as to what to do. He loved marinette so he wouldnt want to put her in danger
He decided to just play along with hawkmoth but would start to question this pointless cycle of his plan. Adrien as Chat noir would wonder how he would tell ladybug without revealing his identity wich would stress him out. He tried to tell LB but she didnt believe him because he didnt have solid proof. Although she began to suspect luka and keep an eye on him as marinete.
At first she didnt notice anything but over time she began to notice subtle things things about Luka that were out of the ordinary.

Good ending: his love for marinette would be what would cause luka would betray hawkmoth and help her in the fight against him

Ideal ending: he sees how his actions for marinette are pointless and becomes heart broken. This then leads to him showing no mercy towards anyone. He goes on a rampage and breaks his promise with hawkmoth. Hawkmoth tries to stop him but all of Lukas anger, sorrow, and pain is too much even for him to handle. Luka ends up taking down hawkmoth and taking his miraculous. Luka becomes the new main villain and is worse than hawkmoth as he doesnt have a soft spot for anyone anymore. Tbc...
