Graduated a few weeks ago and I managed to get hired as a staff accountant at a private company with no real world experience. For those who are in doubt don’t give up!

I like that you pulled up active job listings and explained the job duties. It allowed me to understand better what skills are needed to do those types of jobs.

I only have a 2 year degree and was hired on as a junior accountant (I actually am the only accountant and do both financial reporting and cost accounting). I beat out the other 93 applicants. It is possible! It is challenging as I don’t have experience but I am an extremely quick learner and since I feel like I need to swim or sink, I’m swimming for my life lmao.

I don't have a degree in accounting but kind of fell into the role over time working for hotels. To date, I've been in my role for a year and a half. Started at $52000 annually and now I'm up to $58406. Is a good field to work in. I like it so far. I'm single, no kids so that's a great salary for me.

Salaries for these positions have increased dramatically. I'm looking currently and the private sector of accounting for really basic positions are around 56K-84K
no CPA required or even education now-a-days. So much has changed

I just received a Bachelor's in Accounting. I am interviewing for an accounting clerk position. The pay is a little below average, but I do not have any experience in an office type environment. I do not know how to file or anything like that. I have mostly worked blue-collar, manual labor type jobs before this, though I was an inventory counter and crew manager. I think it will be alright to start as an accounting clerk and work my way up from there. Do you think I am selling myself short?

47k with a 4 year degree is AWFUL
I would feel completely scammed by going to college just to make that much
If i was to go to college especially for 4 years i would expect to make 70k minimum entry level

I graduated two years ago with a Bachelors degree in business administration, however I did very well in all of my accounting courses and have a genuine interest in the field. However for the last two years I have worked as a project manager for my fathers construction company and would need to catch up on my knowledge. Given my situation, what would be the best way for me to enter the accounting field? What accounting jobs should I look to pursue in order to gain professional experience? Should I pursue an internship or an entry level position?

Thank you for another awesome video. This has cleared up a lot of miss understanding of what is expected of an entry level analyst. How long would you suggest a person stay on each level in the private sector? For example a year in Billing then move to AP or should we spend more time in these areas? I personally have done two years in the hotel industry but now im finding it difficult to move to a new job. Also does certain industry experiences limit a person when you are starting out ? Thank you again for your videos :)

I’m 23, do you think I’m to old to start in a field like this?

I think an AP position is right up my alley, thank you.

Hello,
I just recently graduate from Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a 3.729 GPA. I’m having a lot of problem getting my first entry level job. Due to the pandemic, I didn’t had a chance to do an internship and this really affecting me because employers are looking for experience. Do you have any tip that will help me?

The final job listing for the accounts payable accountant, at the 19:09 mark, says it requires 3 years experience. How is this entry level? It seems like getting an accounting degree is incredibly overrated. Here's a job that requires three years experience and pays 55k. That's not particularly good. It seems like there are a lot easier and enjoyable degrees and career paths to be making similar money. Most of the entry level jobs I see (the ones requiring 0-2 years experience) pay around 18 dollars per hour, which is barley over minimum wage in New York (Min Wage is 15 per hour). I just saw a post tha required a BS in accounting, preferred a Masters and progress towards a CPA, and required 3-5 years experinece and the job was paying 45k per year. Really amazing.
