In Eufemia Greece 20+knots wind and a hilarious harbourmaster.
In the end it alll works out.

Considering the powerfull side wind, captain's initial approach was better.

The captain was aiming correctly with the stern upwind and the dock master told him to drop it very early.
It was that moment that I knew...he f up...

It would have been perfect if they had ignored that "keep dropping " muppet

The guy shouted keep dropping and was right. Its better to drop lots of chain to approach freely and after you set at least one landline pull the rest up for holding. Strong side winds actually needs a "keep dropping" approach combined with the correct speed.

The HM yells "upwind" and points downwind! :D

Every harbor has one of these dock side expert screaming and waving his hands. They usually cause more problems than they fix. Should be ignored.

Yes, agreed the captain was perfectly placed as he reversed in; slightly upwind, the dock guy should have kept quiet, too many chiefs..,

Thank you.
Now I know I should never listen to those yellers

two mistakes:
1.) his "speed"coming to the pier was too slow, considering the strong sidewind from starbord
2.)even worse, he nearly stopped shortly before entering his place.
