Stephen Sondheim did a musical based on it in the 70s.

This doc looks like it might be coming true after all.

I lived in Providence thirty five years. I clearly remember when this story broke. It was amazing then and remains so to this day. Can't wait to watch this. Unfortunately, like most malls in the US, this one will probably be razed if nothing can be found to be of good use for it. It's failing and attracts crime.
