I am actually proud to say that I do not have a college degree! I started in school as a pre-med, biology major and was not passionate about it at all. At 21, I started working at a hotel when I was offered the sales manager position and then an Assistant GM. At 25, I took a job with Bank of America as a banker and worked my way up to Branch Manager. Finally at 30, I accepted a job with Edward Jones as a financial advisor. I personally feel like I got to this position based on my work ethic and business savvy and I wear that like a badge of honor! I may get one in the future but I donโ€™t feel like its holding me back from anything I want to do.

I'm in the career changer group. I have a Comp Sci degree, been a software engineer for 20 years, and currently managing a team of 10 other engineers. I'm not enjoying it like I used to and worried about burnout from the high stress. I've stuck with it though because the pay and benefits are so good. I still can't help but think about switching careers to something involving finance. I love numbers, money, problem solving, and most of all helping people. If I were single and nobody depended on me, then I'd make the change in a heartbeat.

So I just graduated college 2 years ago with a history degree for teaching. Due to the pandemic I tried selling life insurance but was more interested in overall finance such as advising, analyzing, or even trading. Would it be better to go back to school for something more related like finance or economics? Or try one of the last 2 scenarios in this video? I'm 25 btw. Sorry for the long question and comment.

Well since I just started college I was looking to do 2 years of Finance courses and then 2 years of working in a finance-related job and then go back to college again is this a good idea.
