DeKalb Medical Physicians Group Gynecologic Oncology Specialists of Atlanta – A state-of-the-art practice within DeKalb Medical’s North Decatur Campus specializing in Gynecologic Oncology.

Two of metro-Atlanta’s top nine doctors in the field of gynecologic oncology as recognized by their peers and Atlanta® Magazine form the physician team at Gynecologic Oncology Specialists of Atlanta or GOSA. Joseph Boveri, M.D., and Cyril Spann, M.D., created the practice in 2013 with DeKalb Medical’s Physician’s Group after being professional colleagues and friends for over 15 years.

Gynecologic Oncology Specialists of Atlanta offers two locations: one at 2675 North Decatur Road, and the second at 5430 Glenridge Drive in Sandy Springs.

The physicians and their staff do all they can to take the stress out of a possible cancer diagnosis and the treatment to follow. “When a patient is given a diagnosis by their primary care physician that she might have a cancer or a mass, and calls us, we get her in the next day if possible,” said Dr. Boveri.

Compassionate care follows that first phone call all the way through the patient’s treatment process. Dr. Spann says, “we have a wonderful front office staff, an attentive chemotherapy nurse, and a team of nurses second to none. We also regularly consult with a multi-specialty team of specialists with DeKalb Medical’s Cancer Center to provide the best care possible to our patients.”

When women need treatment and a plan for managing a gynecologic malignancy, GOSA’s doctors and staff aim to be supportive, informative and restorative. Patients are able to promptly obtain a full range of diagnostic tests, including X-rays, CT scans, MRI and ultrasound at any of the DeKalb Medical facilities that are most convenient. When urgent medical care by a specialist is necessary, the team here can facilitate appointments and referrals for patients to one of the more than 775 physicians on the DeKalb Medical staff.
