Two colorectal surgeons trained in New York team up to provide high-quality colorectal healthcare in Georgia.

Raoul Mayer, M.D., Ph.D. and Luz Angel, M.D., PACS, FASCRS are complementary partners today at the Colorectal Southeast medical practice of the DeKalb Medical Physicians Group. Mayer, a frequent Atlanta Magazine Top Doctor honoree, was in private practice in DeKalb County for 22 years, until his practice became part of DeKalb Medical’s Physician’s Group in 2015. His colleague, Angel, joined Colorectal Southeast in 2016 after moving to Atlanta from New York.

Colorectal Southeast treats malignant and benign conditions of the colon; inflammatory bowel disease; and anal-rectal disorders for patients from age nine to 90. Drs. Mayer and Angel have many things in common: both completed their undergraduate degrees at Columbia University and their residencies in general surgery at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York.
