I'm proud of the color of my skin. White. I'm proud to live in a country where blacks can be proud, gays can be proud, Mexicans can be proud, females can be proud and everyone else can be proud. I am proud that I'm white. I'm not proud of OUR countries past and the things that have been done on BOTH SIDES. And I am also proud that I'm straight. I am proud of these things because I am proud of who I am. I can't change my sexual preference or my skin color. But I'm still proud of myself as should everyone be. I have to embrace my skin tone, sex and sex pref just the same as everyone else on this planet. No matter what you say, you can't change the color of my skin.

I feel that if we talk about race we have white guilt and if we deny it we are racist. I can really see why some people prefer the status quo because now it feels that every thing I do w the intention to support racial equality will be seen in a negative way one way or another.

I just cut off a black friend because of this. Apparently, now black people have the last word on when and where we are to talk about racial equality— that feels unfair and we have to remember that racism affects us all. If I want to talk about race as a white or Hispanic person— I think I should be allowed to talk about race without being made feel as a racist or someone who has white guilt.. truth is that in US everybody is racist because it was injected on us through the system - it’s not my fault but the first step it’s to admit it. I do have bias and I do what I can to change it or try to support race equality even when I am bised, but if I’m going to be judge for that, it does make me think twice about I might as well be better keeping the status quo.

I still think White guilt is mostly self racism that white people deals with. Sure some whites thinks you can't wear cultural clothing that isn't common among whites, but you can still eat at cultural restaurants and take tours of many countries that isn't mostly white and nobody bats an eye. You can even date or marry outside your race if you wanted too. So technically you are dating someone who probably has a different culture then you, because there is always that possiblity that you will have much of their cultures food dishes, and there is always a small chance that you might visit their own country! Yet nobody freaks out at that either? Lol. So how is that not different. Plus, many whites cannot love their own European culture, but they can love others and bring another culture to their country? So tell me again how white guilt is white pride?
