How Difficult is it to Find Food in the Forest?

This week I try my hand at wild foraging in the forest. Will I be able to find a safe meal, or will I pick something poisonous? The aim was to find enough calories in the forest to suffice for a full day.

My old biology teacher had a saying about mushroom foraging. There are old mushroom hunters and there are bold mushroom hunters. There are no old and bold mushroom hunters. He was the guy paramedics called when they couldn't identify a mushroom and he would let them know how many hours their patient had to live usually

Before cooking, make sure that the plant you're cooking is safe to be heated. Although rare, some things release or activate different toxins only once cooked.

Edit: don't need consent from plant to feast on its fleshy goodness
