Thousands of NHS consultants are on strike across England, causing disruption to patient care.

Consultants will stop seeing many patients and will not be around to supervise the work of junior doctors.

The Spectator’s Isabel Hardman says: “It’s fair to say that junior doctors and consultants striking have caused damage to the NHS’s ability to clear the treatment backlog.”

They have to work their arses off to be the best in school, get through a long tough, degree, over a decade of post graduate training with rigorous exams.

Why shouldn't we pay them the market rate? Is the privilege of living in the UK worth the £150, 000 opportunity cost of not moving abroad where they're fairly renumerated?

How much faster do you think the waiting lists will grow when our doctors have moved elsewhere in the anglosphere?

Blame the purchasing and storekeepers for waste and fraud between them and medical suppliers. If that can be cubed, money can be saved and channeled to other important expenditures.
