Load securing in extreme situations – how we ensure maximum safety

At TenneT, transporting heavy goods is part of our daily business. But when it comes to securing loads, we face particular challenges. Our zero-harm strategy aims to ensure the best possible safety – for our employees, our partners and the public.

From construction materials such as mast steel to cable drums – our transports often weigh 16 tonnes or more. Improperly secured loads can lead to dangerous situations during transport as well as during loading and unloading. That is why we at TenneT make no compromises. In addition to strict compliance with applicable standards and laws, we carry out intensive practical tests to regularly review and improve our securing concepts.

Together with our partner Eurosafe, we have defined binding minimum standards for handling special loads such as large cable drums. In order to sensitise our suppliers to the importance of load securing in the long term and to develop this further, we rely on cooperative approaches.

Our aim is to continuously improve the safety of our transport operations and avoid logistics accidents.
