"Get frogs, they're a great low maintenance pet!"
They didn't tell me that their food source is high maintenance. lol

Hey mate, thanks for the video.

Any chance you could do a video that goes into a bit more depth regarding maintainence cleans and parasites in breeding feeder colonies?

The reason I ask is I am breeding Woodies (Australian version of Dubias), and recently I saw coccidia oocysts in his poo so I took him to the vet yesterday and the vet said he was riddled with coccidia.

So that got me thinking, as I breed my own Woodies, is my Woody colony infected with coccidia? Is that possible?

I'm not sure if I should get rid of the colony and start from scratch. Tonight, I'm going to dissect a Woody and see if I can see any oocysts under my microscope.

Also, I'm glad you said that about gutload not meant for the main diet. I did try to breed crickets a while ago, but the babies grew to 'small' size, and seemed to have stunted after that. I guessing it was because I was using gutload as their main food.

Do you just keep the egg container with the adults or do you separate them like every other breeder?

Thanks for this video, if I ever want to breed crickets I want it to be small scale since it would only be for my leopard gecko.

Hi Liam, I’m sorry this comment is so long, but I’m nee to reptile keeping so I have a lot of questions, I just want to thank you for teaching me that halogens are better than dhps, I started using an Arcadia floodlight which I think is a type of halogen. I have seen that he basks less and explore more, he also seems to come out at “dawn” which I simulated with turning just the halogen on and it makes the tank a warm colour, I don’t know if that simulates dawn accurately ( pls let me know if it does or doesn’t) but he seems to be active at that time which disproves the myth that they don’t bask or only come out at night. However I have a question about this video, can I use veg for gutloading instead of fancy products, and for a leopard gecko, should I be supplementing vitamins ( arcadia earth pro a ) every feed like the website suggests? ( I currently do it every other week with calcium every feed)
Thank you, your my favourite YouTuber because your so informative while being entertaining
