Mardin, 1915: One night, driving the Turkish Gendarmerie along all Armenian men. The young blacksmith Nazareth Manoogian is separated from his family. After he manages to survive the horror of the genocide, years later it reached the news that his twin daughters are alive. Owned rediscover the thought of her, he follows in their footsteps. They lead him from the deserts of Mesopotamia over Havana to the barren, lonely prairies of North Dakota. On his odyssey, he meets many different people, angelic and benevolent characters, but also the devil in human form.

Un grand bravo et un grand merci à Monsieur Fathi Akin. Je n' ai pas encore vus le film, mais chapeau pour un Allemand d' origine Turc de oser, à faire un film sur ce sujet très très tabou pour une très grosse partie de la population Turc. Respect à ce cinéaste.

Un film à voir, surtout pour les nouvelles générations Arméniennes et d' origines Arméniennes, ainsi que tous ceux dont l' histoire de ces diverses minorités Chrétiennes dans ces années sombres de l' empire Ottoman intéresses.

People should look into imperialist ambitions of France to make presence near caspian and iraq oil fields. British were already ahead of the game by making presence in both iraq&azeri land. Armenians lived under Turkish control for 5 centuries and well respected, why would Turks decide to organize genocide to deliberately kill thousands during their darkest year within 1.ww in 1915? Both sides suffered many casualties, and Turks did deport Armenians out of the land in order to restrict logistic support to Armenian mercenaries working for France. Turkish army was already stricken at the tome and could bearly hold onto western front. I truly wish none of this happened and Armenians still lived there.

What is the original language of the movie? I can see from the video that the German voices don't match with the movements of the lips.
