I got my first job creating a portfolio with a mix of tutorial projects and my own projects. On the tutorials i didn’t just follow along, I added cool features and expanded upon the projects though.First job was 80k here in Atlanta. 2 years later I’m making 120k. Now I’m focused on getting into fang to make 200k +. I’m 27 btw.

Now when you take the tutorial code or a project done by someone else and improve upon it, refactor it, add extra fancy stuff that's unique, optimize it, etc, it's a different story since it shows you understand the code flow and can think critically

Hey stef, just a quick FYI! I don't like the clips! I Like the 45 min videos because I don't like to be distracted by my phone, looking for something else to listen to. I like long conversations, like lex fridman, and stuff I can focus on. Cheers, man love your work, and your sincerity. I'm blasting through my third java textbook. Just learning concepts, and practising applying them. Great documentation in Java. Your courses are on the list once I learn streams and lambdas properly. That's my goal for now!
