Have you heard that people can have cheetahs as their pets? For the United Arab Emirates, for example, that’s a normal thing. They are just like dogs or cats – living inside their houses, going out with their owners on passenger seats of their cars, you know, something typical for them. Can you imagine going to the kitchen to have some coffee and seeing there a cheetah?!

Cheetahs are actually more related to the domestic house cat than lions/tigers.

That’s because cheetahs were domesticated by the pharaoh for thousands of years. Just imagine a domesticated animal going back to its wild habitat fir the next 1000 years

They do have at least one doglike trait, unlike the other cats, their claws don't retract.

They are literally big housecats, apparently they love to be pet and make the same noise as a housecat

Cheetah's in zoos also fsirly often have dogs as therapy/comfort animals to help with their anxiety

So switch a dog out for a human, breed the friendliest cheetahs, and in a few generations theyll be good pets

They don't see us as prey because they tend to go for fast moving prey. And they know humans can be their pets that provide for them

If you have a pet cheetah you better have a large plot of land, at least 50 acres, for them to roam around in.

A cheetah’s vocal chords are more like a cat’s which allows them to purr and meow but they can’t roar like a lion or tiger

Cheetahs don't survive well in the wild anyway the only thing they have going for them is their speed and they're often bullied by lions and tigers so it's probably better for them to be kept in captivity
Also they're hella anxious to the point where in captivity they end up getting emotional support dogs

They can be pet in the sense that they are rather docile. But they shouldn’t be pet because they need a lot of space to run and exercise

Cheetahs are naturally more cautious about their prey in general because they truly can’t afford injury. They rely almost exclusively on their speed when they hunt and thus only wanna get physical with something they’re trying to eat and that is most harmless to them.
